Modern Dance

Saturday, April 20

10 am – 12 pm

In a dance industry nearly dominated by classical Ballet, the Modern (and eventually, post-modern) dance movement of the 20th century begged the question “is this all we can do?” Pioneers such as Martha Graham expanded the physical vocabulary of dance and began to tell stories other than the classical fairytales of ballet. Though we will learn core dance movements and positions, we will also dedicate time to developing our own movement through improvisation. Excellent class for anyone who wants to develop their physical presence, whether they are a dancer, athlete, actor, or just a lover of fun! No prior experience required.

Instructor: Sage Tanguay      Class Fee: $35 (LSC Dancers Fee: $30)      Recommended Ages: 12+
